Love Ourselves

Assalam.

I would like to quote 3 lines from a poem written by Derek Walcott.

"You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you."

Mind is a great tool for human. Use it in compliment with brain. Brain owns by a body. So, who has full control of a mind?
The brain's master.

Our brain, is manifested a great deal to human body, from head to toe, inside out. Quite a powerful organ. No brain, No gain.

It works in both expected and unexpected ways, affecting our actions in everyday life.

Environment and many other factors, blends in like a coffee, sip a bit of it, you'll feel the sensation. You add more sugar, it tastes sweeter. Creamer? Like heaven's drink. A cappuccino maybe? Splendid.
But what if, spices, salts, and other ingredients are added in that cup? Give it a taste, and I am pretty sure, you won't like it.

That's one of the simplest example.

Now, get back to the poem. We tend to throw ourselves aside, to feel safe with everyone around, while our minds, filled with hunger to be loved by ourselves.
A man who don't love himself, is a crazy indeed.

Straight to the point. We love people's opinions more than we love ourselves.
We slightly become another person, with the same name, same body, same brain but different mind, just to fit in the society. No doubts, we do need to take account on opinions from others, but we need to take care of ourselves first, the first priority. Well, that's depends on your perspectives.

For me, my first priority is myself.
I can feel, the need to love myself, to accept myself as I am.

: )
